For me the experience at every Oriental coffee restaurant has been good all the times. The one in Midvally Southkey JB is shifted to the new location months ago. Now it is much spacious, and the experience is even better. It maintains the same authentic taste of every dish and cup throughout the time. I recommend this place for anyone looking for pleasant dining experience, doesn’t matter if you are with family, friends or even alone.

Dinner queue started forming at 5pm but it was quite manageable. We waited for about 20mins. Kaya toast was lovely. Nasi lemak was heavenly. The rice was fluffy soft, fried chicken very tasty and the sambal went so well with some rice and crispy ikan billis. Already thinking about seconds.

Place is packed, the seating is close to each other. But thankfully service was quite fast, though seating might be a while if u come in a big group. Had the curry mee, and it was better than what i expected. The egg tart is definitely the high light here, simply yummy!

A very popular local joint at the moment with queue during peak hours. We had afternoon tea and so it was not too crowded. It was a thoroughly enjoyable tea from the thick aromatic iced coffee to the “crispy peanut butter oozing out” toast. The taro polo bun had iced thick butter sandwiched which made it delectably smooth. Simply perfect.

This is a popular eatery serving a wide variety of local dishes. The staff are attentive and it's food is delicious. The serving may be a bit small for big eater. Their coffee and tea is nice and fragrant. Do be prepared to queue during peak hours.

We had a lovely dinner at Oriental (Southkey). The staff were warm, attentive, and efficient, and our food came promptly despite the busy crowd. Service was smooth throughout, which always makes the experience here enjoyable. As for the food—consistently delicious, as always. • Polo Bun: Perfectly baked with a lightly crisp, sugary crust on top and a soft, fluffy centre. Warm, buttery, and comforting—one of the best items to start the meal with. • Kaya Butter Toast: Toasted to a beautiful golden crunch, spread generously with rich kaya and a slab of cold butter that melts just right between the warm bread. Simple but satisfying. • Fried Mee Hoon: Fragrant and well-seasoned, with a good “wok hei” aroma. The noodles were light, not greasy, and full of flavour. • Fried Mee Siam: Tangy, slightly spicy, and very aromatic. The balance of sweet, sour, and savoury was spot-on. • Malay Fried Rice: Comforting and flavourful with a nice smoky aroma. Each grain was well-separated and coated with seasoning, making it hearty and satisfying. • Dry Ban Mee: Springy noodles tossed in a savoury sauce, topped with crispy anchovies for that extra crunch and umami. • Kids Meal Fried Rice: Mild, non-spicy, and nicely portioned for children. Simple flavours but tasty enough.

Visited Oriental Kopi at Mid Valley Southkey – overall a pleasant experience. The ambience is nice, clean, and quite spacious, with a nostalgic kopitiam vibe. Service was reasonably fast despite the crowd during peak hours. The food quality is good — their kaya toast and soft-boiled eggs are classic favourites. Nasi lemak and curry mee were tasty, though portions could be slightly bigger for the price. Drinks like their signature kopi and teh were strong and aromatic, just right. The downside? It can get quite crowded and a bit noisy during lunch/dinner time, so be prepared to wait for a table. Still, it's a nice spot for casual meals or tea-time with family and friends. Would recommend trying at least once if you're nearby.
